  • While I do not have the typical part time job that happens on a regular basis. These are some of the work experiences that I have had (presented in chronological order):

Working at the OHF Bantam 'A' Championship
The Ontario Hockey Federation runs a championships for the best times in Ontario. This year I was asked to time keep semi-final games. Find out more OHF information.
    Working at WMLMHA
I am currently a Level 2 referee and work at West Mall Lightning Minor Hockey Association. I've worked there under various titles for seven years, three of which have been refereeing. I also time keep for them. In previous years I've been a technician for their sound system, and have also been an assistant to the league president (duties include standings, stats, paper work).  Find out more WMLMHA information.
    Working at ESWIM
I have represented Etobicoke Swimming for one meet as a Meet Secretary. Meet Secretary is a hard job that has been made much easier with the advent of technology entering the swim world. I am a Level 1 swim official and am planning to do Level 2 sometime this year. I am a regular Meet Secretary for ESWIM. Find out more ESWIM information.
Working at West Mall Old-Timers Christmas Tournament
I have worked at the Old-Timers Christmas Tournament as a time keeper for three years in a time keeping capacity. I have had championship assignments every year I've worked at the tournament
    Working at West Mall Old-Timers
I am a regular time keeper for the West Mall Old-Timers. They have great pay, unfortunately I sometimes have to work until midnight!
Working at WMLMHA Early Bird Tournament
I have time kept at the Early Bird Tournament for three years. I am one of the senior time keepers now and usually draw the late games - better pay, better a much harder job. I've had a few championship assignments in this tournament
    Working at WMLMHA Easter Tournament
The Easter Tournament used to be quite a regular, however was cancelled for two years. I worked in it the last year before it was cancelled as a time keeper. Last year, its first year back, I worked as a referee for the younger divisions and time kept the older divisions. Notably, I had a championship assignment as a referee!

Part of the expectation for the Ontario High School curriculum is to complete forty hours of community. Here is a chronologically organized list of some of the volunteer jobs I have done:

    Assistant Hockey Coach
I have been an assistant hockey coach for a West Mall team for three years. Responsibilities include providing support for weaker players, demonstrating drills, refereeing scrimmages, completing game sheets, and providing general support for the coaches.
    Co-Developer of "Login Vortex"
Login Vortex is a software application that enables school lab administrators to add users to a database and generate logins for a Netware Server. It was "commissioned" (no money involved) by Martingrove Collegiate Institute and was first used in the 2002-2003 school year. The program was developed by the non-profit organization SquidSoft. Find out more SquidSoft information.

I have been involved with a number of extra-curricular activities. Here are some of my favourite extra-curricular activities that I am been involved in this year:

    Senior Concert Band
Besides doing band in class, I also am in the Senior Concert Band at school. We rehearse every Thursday evening. It's a lot of fun, and we play really hard music! I am currently a fourth horn and am understudying the first horn part, but am hoping to be promoted to principle horn next year.
    Bear's Den
The Bear's Den is my schools store that sells food and drinks. This year I am a general council member, although that didn't stop me from playing a large part in operations: I'm the only person who can program the cash register!
    Symphony Orchestra
Our symphony orchestra, which does include saxophones (much to my disappointment) is a fun group that I also play in. Currently we are working on playing Star Wars!
